Preparing to launch balloon
Balloon launches (Rawinsonde launches) provide an opportunity to make surface meteorological observations and gain knowledge about the marine inversion layer. Depending on weather conditions, balloons are launched at intervals of 2 - 6 hours. Data recorded is latitude, longitude, Rawinsonde Frequency, launch time, highest altitude (meters) and lowest barometric pressure.
