Deck Department

The Deck Department consists of five people, one Chief Bos'n (CB), one Lead Fisherman (LF), one Skilled Fisherman (SF), one Fisherman (F) and one Ordinary Fisherman (OF). They are responsible for the operation of deck machinery, deploying instruments, handling cargo, anchoring and mooring the ship. The department also maintains the ship's external structure, rigging, boats, weather decks, and interior spaces except the engine room and deploys, maintains and repairs scientific trawl nets.
