The ship's Electronics Department is staffed by rotating Electronics Technicians (ET's) from the Marine Operation Center's, Mission Support Division (MOP3). There is one Lead Electronics Technician (LET) aboard during each cruise. The LET is responsible for the maintenance, repair and calibration of all electronic equipment including data acquisition systems, electronic navigation systems, echo sounders and recorders, communications equipment, computers, and winch instrumentation systems. The LET also maintains the electronics shop.
