Commanding Officer - CDR Dave Score
In his 19 years of service as a NOAA Corps Officer, CDR Score has completed sea tours on NOAA Ships Miller Freeman, Ferrell, and Nancy Foster, serving in a variety of capacities from Operations to Executive Officer prior to taking Command of Gordon Gunter. He has diverse operational experience with fisheries, oceanographic, mapping, and SCUBA mission support. Ashore, CDR Score has been a key figure with the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries where he has served as the Research Coordinator for Channel Islands NMS, Executive Officer for Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary, and as both the Upper Region Manager and most recently Superintendent for the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. He is a graduate of the Florida Institute of Technology with a BS in marine biology and advanced research and coursework in biology at Georgia Southern University. Born outside of Cleveland, Ohio, CDR Score now resides in the Florida Keys with his wife and two daughters.
