Electronics Department

The ship's Electronics Department is staffed by rotating Electronic Technicians (ET) from the Marine Operation Center's, Mission Support Division. There is one ET aboard during each cruise. The ET is responsible for the maintenance, repair and calibration of all electronic equipment including data acquisition systems, electronic navigation systems, echo sounders and recorders, communications equipment, computers, and winch instrumentation systems. The ET also maintains the radio shack and the electronics shop.
