Executive Officer- LT John A. Crofts
Has been on McArthur II since October 2008
LT Crofts reported to NOAA Ship McArthur II as Executive Officer on October 1, 2008. His prior sailing experience includes a tour aboard NOAA Ship John N. Cobb as XO, a tour aboard NOAA Ship Albatross IV as Operations Officer and Navigation Officer, and several years running commercial fishing, charter fishing, and fisheries research boats. LT Crofts holds a degree in Biology from St. Olaf College and an MBA from the Naval Postgraduate School.

Operations Officer-LT Jay Lomnicky, Hometown: Seattle, WA
Has been on the McArthur II since Nov 2008
LT Lomnicky joined McArthur II's wardroom as FOO in Nov 2008 after completing a shore assignment as the Benthic Mapping Specialist for the Alaska Fisheries Science Center RACE Divison. His previous assignments took him to Alaska aboard NOAA Ships Rainier and Fairweather and to the Gulf of Mexico for hurricane Katrina relief work aboard Thomas Jefferson. He graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology."

Navigation Officer- ENS John Petersen, Hometown: Seattle, WA
Has been on the McArthur II since June 2009
ENS Petersen earned a mechanical engineering degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, CA. The McArthur II’s great breadth of missions keeps him excited to be apart of NOAA. While ashore he can be found in the mountains climbing, running along Lake Washington, or boating on Puget Sound.

Junior Officer- ENS Alice Dury, Hometown: Tacoma, WA
ENS Drury graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Environmental Studies. ENS Drury is excited to be aboard McArthur II and to contribute to the ship's various missions.

Mate in Training- Jon Forgione, Hometown: Martha’s Vineyard, MA
Has been on the McArthur II since January 2009
Jon Forgione relocated to McArthur II from Delaware II where he sailed as Chief Boatswain. Mate Forgione has changed departments and now is working towards a Third Mate position in the NOAA Fleet. Graduating from Basic Officers training Course (BOTC 113) he is one of the first members of the integrated AB-Mate/BOTC program currently underway through the Global Maritime and Training School (GMATS) program at United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY. Mate Forgione resides from Martha's Vineyard an island off the coast of Cape Cod, MA and spent his career with NOAA sailing out of Woods Hole MA.
