JUE Ellison was born in Jacksonville, AR, and raised in Memphis, TN, graduating from Fayette-Ware High School in 1984. He served in the Navy from 1989-1998 aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt, USS Kittyhawk, and the SSBN Henry M. Jackson. He has an Associates of Applied Science in Surgical Technology from High Tech Institute in Memphis. He joined NOAA in 2006 and served on the Ranier before coming to the Oregon II.
