Been on Oregon II since March 2007 Gene began his engineering career aboard fishing boats in New Jersey and then moved on to the US Navy where he was an engineering Chief Petty Officer. After the Navy he had several shore-based careers - nursing, teaching, restaurateur, social work - but always came back to sea in between. Gene is married with 3 children and 7 grandchildren. He makes his home in Melbourne FL and is an alumnus of Rhode Island College, Roosevelt University and SUNY. |
